Jerry Waller was doing what a good neighbor should do. He was going to see if the home across the street was intact after he heard an alarm go off. Jerry Waller never made it across the street. In fact, he never even made it out of his driveway.

He was shot six times in the chest. No he was not shot by escaping thieves, he was killed by two officers of the law. And the Fort Worth police department maintains:

…officers did follow policy and procedure…

It is a dangerous world we live in when an elderly man is killed on his own property while trying to defend his neighbors. Mr. Waller was armed but I doubt that he was so threatening as to warrant the gunfire that met him outside his home. Watch the interview with his wife below.
